Terms & Conditions

TERMS and CONDITIONS

- for shipping client's bikes to and from New Zealand. Failure to read, understand and act upon these Terms and Conditions could cause considerable heartache and expense!! 5% of our clients suffer every year. Will you be one of them? Wearing Hi Viz vests in all our loading depots is compulsory.

BIKE CLEANLINESS.

Your bike must be spotless when packed into the container - preferably thoroughly pressure washed all over. This is a Quarantine Service requirement on both sides of the Tasman. Each bike owner is expected to ensure his or her bike is satisfactorily clean to pass a Quarantine Service inspection. Chain, sprockets, wheels, engine fins, radiator grills, main stands, underneath engines etc are the most likely areas to contain the sort of dirt (which may contain weed seeds, dead insects, insect eggs) which Quarantine will be looking for. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. YOU WILL INCUR EXTRA EXPENSE IF YOUR BIKE HAS TO BE CLEANED

PETROL TANKS & BATTERIES

DON'T FORGET TO EMPTY THE PETROL TANK (LESS THAN 2 LITRES IS OK) and DISCONNECT BATTERY and INSULATION TAPE BOTH TERMINALS & LEADS.

This is not up for discussion or negotiation. Do it or we won't ship your bike.

Don't leave your bike in gear. In the depot or on the cradle and FFS don't lock it..

PANNIERS must be disconnected from the bike at the time of loading. We suggest you use panniers as your luggage when you fly to New Zealand. Suggestion: Use plastic Bubble Wrap - 3 layers to protect your panniers in the cargo hold of the plane. If taking panniers on the flight is not an option it's up to you to wrap the panniers sufficiently to avoid damage when we load them on the floor of the container. That's your responsibility.

All panniers & top boxes going in the container or in storage at one of our depots MUST be clearly labelled - name, bike rego, destination & your arrival date at that depot. That's your responsibility.

What can you put in the container?

Applies going to and coming back from your destination. Apart from your bike and it's bubble wrapped panniers (Panniers NOT on bike) you may put your riding boots, jacket, pants & helmet, tools, maps and that's it.. Nothing else goes in the container. Not tents or clothing or food or anything!!

CUSTOMS & QUARANTINE

We organise Customs clearances & Quarantine Inspections (price included) and loading & unloading of the container.. CUSTOMS CLEARANCE & QUARANTINE INSPECTION is included in our price.

For Customs Clearance purposes a Carnet de Passages en Douane is required for each bike. This is the responsibility of each bike owner to obtain. Applications are available from the RACQ, RACV, NRMA etc. It takes up to 6 weeks, so don't leave it till the last minute The Carnet MUST be presented 5 working days prior to the day of loading in your Australian port. Without the Carnet your bike will not be loaded.

PERSONAL EFFECTS WILL NOT BE CARRIED IN THE CONTAINER

- Panniers & Top Boxes etc YES - BUT they must be unlocked and closed with sticky tape and bubble wrapped so Quarantine can inspect. Helmets, Boots Jackets in panniers is OK. NOT TENTS, food or anything else.
